Travel Rates    We charge $1.00 per mile round trip for site visits, $1.20 per mile round trip for installations and light service installations that do not require the use of our diesel truck and job trailer, and $1.50 per mile round trip for full service and installations requiring the use of the diesel truck and job trailer. This rate covers all of our expenses, including time. 

Labor Rates   We charge $57.50 per hour for shop and site labor. The hourly charges do not start until we are on site. We typically do not run the labor clock when we are traveling to a job, though jobs a significant distance from the shop may require renegotiation of the mileage charge to cover actual costs.

Site Visits   Site visits typically only involve one person, the price will be a straight $75 per hour on most site visits (plus whatever the travel mileage works out to be). We will then credit you for 50% of the total site visit if you purchase a complete system from Independent Power.

Design Charges   Our design and consultation charges will be $75 per hour. Again we will credit back half of this total when you purchase a complete system from Independent Power. We have found that doing business this was is the fairest for both parties.

Note: Unscheduled service calls (emergency service calls) will be billed at $1.75 per round trip mile and a labor rate of $75 per person hour.

Note: We charge a 25% surcharge to work on systems, or components to build a system, that were not purchased from Independent Power. This typically comes into play when a homeowner purchases their components over the Internet or through a mail order catalog. Our component markups are fair and based on industry standards. We generally require our materials markups in order to cover our overhead and to successfully operate our business.
